Shimano Scorpion DC17 - Help?

Featured Replies

I was fishing with my Scorpion today. I was playing around with the brake settings. One cast, it made a weird noise. It wasn't loud or annoying, but never heard it before. I noticed that my brake dial was in between A and 4; not fully dialed to one or the other. The noise persisted for the rest of the time fishing. It seems to cast fine after adjusting the brake dial.

Again it isn't loud, but still there.

The braking seemed a little clunky...but I can't tell if I'm being paranoid cause it looks like it's casting the same distance.

Is there something actually wrong? or am I just paranoid?

You didn't mention if the reel is new or if you've used DC reels before.  Just want to make sure it's not the usual weird noise that all DC reels make.

I had this reel for a couple months now. There's a slight whimpering sound with the usual DC sound.
