For the past couple of weeks I’ve been struggling to catch bass, even dinks.

 

I’m located in Connecticut, and fish mostly lake Lillinonah and Candlewood. Both lakes are DEEP, rocky, and overall difficult to fish.
 
The surface water temp varies between 81 and 85 in both lakes right now. 
 

I feel like I’ve tried every trick I’ve got... from fishing in 1 foot of water to 40ft (and everything in between). I’ve used a plethora of baits and techniques (jigs, t-rigs, Swimbaits, crankbaits, jerks, neds, Wack rigs, finesse rigs, you name it), and I’ve been fishing in various weather conditions and times of day hoping for a bite.

 

...Ive caught 3 small bass in over 3 weeks... All in all, the struggle is REAL! 

Is anyone else going through this? Any tips or tricks for being successful in the summer heat?

Are you a boater or shore?

If boater, decent electronics?

I’m a boater, I have a decent but basic fish finder (Lowrance Hook 5).

Ive been using it and I can see fish, just can’t seem to get them to bite.

It sounds like you have tried a number of presentations.

 

Without knowing everything you've done, I would find points with water from 10-20' and drop shot with a few different colored baits.  I've had days where I have fish below me, dropped a green pumpkin worm on them with no bites. Switched to a Purple Weenie Reins worm and lit em up.

 

Do you drop shot?

The water is pretty warm in Wisconsin as well. Definitely not catching a whole lot but I have been having my best luck pulling a frog over grass, pads, and slop in shallow water. Texas rig with a beaver tail has been working in the clearer water. Not much luck with anything else at the moment.

Don’t feel bad. I’ve been having one of those seasons to. I Fish out of a boat and off shore and all I’ve come up with is a cupule of dinks  2 weeks back  I’ve even went o bass pro shop and loaded up on new stuff (dam bait monkey)  but all will not be lost  I’m going to try a new lake that I haven’t fished before  maybe you should try that   I’m going Friday night after work I’ll let you know if I got the sunk off ?

And just like that skunk be gone switched things up and slowly bounced a stick bait weightless Texas rig off the bottom and this hogSwallowed it 

Have you tried the thin 5 inch senko by Yamamoto ? Fished shallow in the morning presents a different look to fish used to seeing thicker 5 and 6 inch senko.  In deeper water try trolling to locate actively feeding fish that may be following  moving schools of bait. Hope this helps .
