Someone was looking out for them

No doubt. I’d imagine 7 miles out in Lake Michigan in an inflatable kayak can turn not ideal pretty quick. Glad it ended well.

If you've never been out on a large body of water, it's very intimidating if you don't have the right vessel to handle mother nature. I was a mile out on Lake Michigan a 26' ProLine walk around and was in fear for my life. I was heading in and misjudged the timing of the storm. Scariest mile of my life. 8-10ft waves in a small vessel sucks. Those kids are fortunate they are alive.

Never been on Lake Michigan. Used to go out on Erie with my grandpa though. He was careful about the weather and I’m sure we were fine, but there were a couple times it was pretty intimidating even in decent weather with a little wind. It’s been a long time ago but I remember him talking about how fast storms could form over the lake. I also

remember sitting at their kitchen table looking towards the lake watching blue skies turn to puffy clouds, turn to almost dark in what seemed like a matter of 20

minutes. I’d imagine Michigan is the same. Definitely something to be respected. I’d say that was one long mile for you.

The Coast Guard was looking out for them, that's for sure.

Nice to hear a good ending to one of these stories.
