Shimano expride 6'10 ml/f opinions

Featured Replies

Hey guys so I found a good deal on hardly used expride spinning rod. The guides cork and everything look good. Do my question guys who have the rod how do you like them?

I assume you are referring to the spinning rod.

I like the rod. I find the sensitivity is good and the rod is very light weight. Paired up with a light weight reel the combo feels great in the hands.

Its a very versatile rod. I use it for neds, shaking heads, drop shots, small jerkbaits and spinners. Pretty much any finesse application.

Yeah sorry the spinning rod. That's kinda what I want is a multipurpose finesse and reading the specs I figured it might fill that role rally well.

I have one I use for ned and wacky and really like it. Really comfortable handle. It is very sensitive and has a very soft tip. In my opinion it bends a little bit deeper down the blank than a typical fast action. Really nice stick.

I have stradic fl on it but this reel is a bit too heavy for it.

d**n I have a stradic k I was gonna put in it. Might have an excuse to buy a ci4 while they're on sale

I had the rod but sold it.  It is too soft for my liking for any kind of bottom contact.  It feels like a much less powerful rod compared to a Dobyns 2 power.  IMO it is best suited to small treble hook lures, like inline spinners, small poppers, maybe even spypaits

Interesting information.  I just placed an order for mine.  I'll be using it for 1/8 oz. bugs lures and 3" paddle tails on 1/16 or 1/8 oz. jig heads for finesse open water  inshore fishing.  It will double duty for bass using ned rigs and light drop shots.  I like my rods a little softer than most so I hope it works out.

Use to have one, I thought it would be like the NRX DSR action but it's actually softer. I didn't like it for drop shot or anything higher than 3/16. It makes a good Ned Rig rod, but I sold it to a buddy and loves it for Crappie fishing lol.
