Hey Guys, Remind Me Again

I remember hearing something about people receiving packages of flower seeds from China but I don't remember the reason they are being sent to us in the good ole USA.

Can anyone help me with this situation and let me know what you know about this?

My wife says the seeds are dangerous or poisonous or will grow like weeds and take over an area. She will not let me open the small package or throw them on the lawns of the people I don't like.

Thanks for your responses. Sincerely appreciate all of them.

A simple google query revealed this:

"The federal inspection agency said evidence indicates the packages are part of a “brushing scam” in which sellers send unsolicited items in hopes of increasing sales."

It seems that the seeds so far appear to be common flowering varieties but they do recommend that they not be planted as some could be invasive species.

My wife received a pack of the seeds and most recently a pair of socks, neither of which she ordered.

I think it has been determined that the seeds are harmless, but I would destroy them anyhow.
