american tackle slx combo

Featured Replies

is the slx combo by american tackle a new rod and reel or is it used? If it is new, how do they sell it for so cheap? also what line do you recommend for it and lb strength

It's definitely new. 12-14 lb. mono/copoly or 20-40 braid will suit just fine.

Its new. What happened is their new employee accidentally ordered too many and now they have to sell them to you at ridiculously cheap prices and they must GO! GO! GO!

   1) Companies sometimes introduce "loss leaders" into the market, to rob market share from their competitors.

   2) This combo might not even be a loss leader. It might simply show how much margin is built into the rod and/or reel.

   3) Many times "combo" sales are on models that are statistically slower sellers for that company. Other companies may look at it differently.

   4) And the all-time best answer is ........ companies want to attract new customers. Sales do that, no matter what the product is.

Got the XT reel, RH 8.2-1 and a 7'2 H/F rod. Slapped 60lb braid on it.
