problem is there’s none in stock of either at the store lol, but i do have an XT so i know how an SLX would feel like, and i do have a spinning set up a shimano stradic, but if i get the SLX i’d save about 80 bucks for other gear anyway, can’t go wrong either way, just want that LFS gone tho, fished with it today, and for some reason when i was reeling in, i felt the reel just seized for a second or two and i had to like jam it to get it reeling again ?

funny you said soup, because my slx xt someone spilled soup on it ? 50? isn’t it like 80?, but i get what you mean, and when you say hold up in value, you mean trading/selling value later on? i’d totally just get the slx if it wasn’t for the colors, i have the XT already, but the colors are just something else lol I have to exchange it with something available at Dicks Sporting since i had this giftcard and code for a “courtesy adjustment” since they messed up badly on an order

Okay, so after fishing with the LFS for a few weeks now, i’m not completely sold on it, the thumb bar sometimes jams on me, and the reeling just sometimes feels like sand is stuck in it and it’s grinding, so right now i can either exchange it for another LFS (maybe i got an unlucky one) or exchange for SLX or pay difference for a Curado K... so is the curado K worth the extra money or is the SLX the better buy? I’m leaning more towards the curado simply for the looks of it, and i heard it’s extremely smooth.

Hey so, i found someone who needs to get rid of their lightly used zillion because of financial reasons and they are willing to let it go for 150, is this reel a good reel? plus what should i look for in a second hand reel to ensure i’m not getting screwed with something that is broken lol

I was reading on some older forums about people using Dawn Dish Soap to degrease and clean the insides since it’s safe in plastics/ degreases, but i read that people said to use non-detergent ones? And is Dawn safe on magnetic brakes? And if i’m not mistaken for magnetic brakes you don’t oil or anything (just keep clean and dry) since it uses pulls of the magnetic and nothing rubs? Overall, is it okay/ good to use Dawn and does anyone use it for cleaning?

Hey so i was thinking of getting a cheap/decent rod i don’t have to be so careful with/ when i travel with my family since we always pack a lot and the last two times my rod kept having to be pushed against a lot of stuff and it wasn’t protected, so i was wondering any good rods 70 and under, preferably two piece so i can fit it in the car better, i was looking at the kast king perigee 2 piece rod on amazon and it’s 53 bucks i believe, it has good reviews but wanted some more opinions

my reel just came in that was ordered 2 days later and had to get shipped from ups to usps and my rod that was usps is still in transit since the 28th lol? i really think it’s lost... but for 80 the fuego is a nice reel, i like the feel better than the slx it has a “tank” feel, also i got a sweet deal on the lews speed spool for roughly 60, not sure if that’s a great deal, but is it a good reel? i heard it’s okay?

@MN Fisher just making sure the fr703c and fr733c is the same, but one is only 3 inches longer? it’s kinda weird in my opinion how on their website the 733 is not listed as a t rig rod but the 703 is, idk but my 733 is coming in on my birthday hopefully

how do you like the dobyns fury compared to SLX? since you had both to use also anyone know anything about the kast king perigee? i heard nice things about it especially for the price

I guess i’ll know when it comes in, but the fury rod looks so much nicer, and the life time warranty is a big big plus, but i don’t see myself breaking a rod?

d**n, didn’t even know about the lifetime warranty of Dobyns, that made me feel like i made the right choice 100% for sure now, so everytime you need a replacement it’s only 50? or is that like a one time thing? edit: just read your link oops, that’s pretty cool of them especially the irl exchange with no questions asked What rod specification do you have for your reels? I’d like some insight on what you prefer for your combos, if you don’t mind I don’t think they meant casting distance with other diawas, but they mean that the slx does better than the fuego in casting, i saw a video where DEBO fishing mentioned it too, saying the slx is the best for distance in that 100 range
