Favorite Bass Lures for year round
not sure about the terminology but where i fish it’s like shallow for 3-4 feet and then it drops down and the bottom is rocky, there’s no vegetation except for the shoreline and that’s about it and the water is usually slightly to moderately stained, slightly windy usually or none at all, super sunny almost all the time unless it’s downright about to rain during rainy season lol, only cover the fishes have during the day is hiding along the drop offs i believe because there’s no lily pads or overhand trees

Favorite Bass Lures for year round
okay so for the most part everyone is saying senkos and swim jigs with crawls which is what i don’t have... as for senkos is the yamamotos worth the extra few bucks or would i be better off with just the Strike King Shim-E-Stick Soft Bait Lure and save a few bucks to buy more? Also what’s your favorite crawl and swim jig? i’m guessing the rage crawls? i see everyone use them for chatterbaits, swimjigs, jigs what color kvd 1.5 would you recommend for south florida with slightly to moderate stain waters? I was thinking the sexy shad would be good? Also i fish from shore so there’s a lot of drop offs and rocks that i get caught on the square bill ones should help with that? anyone have tips on walking lures like the spook, frog, and popper, either i suck at it or i’m not using the right equipment lol, i tried doing it on braid with a MH 7’3 rod, but this was when i only had a spinning set up

Favorite Bass Lures for year round
Hello, my birthday is coming up and i’m gonna get a good amount of lures/baits to add to my collection, any recommendations on what to get? Right now i only have roughly 10 lures in total (just the basics pretty much one type of each common lure), and about 10 bags of soft plastics... Also are ‘Yo-Zuri’ lures good for bass/ good for the price? I like how they look, but some people say for the price there’s better bass lures on the market

Lures/Baits for south Florida's hot fall
@Captain PhilWhat should i use for evening/night fishing? I only fish from shore. What type of plastic worm should i use? weightless trick worm or like a weighted u tail worm?

Lures/Baits for south Florida's hot fall
Its been rough fishing in south Florida lately due to the extreme heat (even though its like this year round), I usually catch a decent amount in my community ponds/ lakes on zoom flukes and micro lures like the bitsy minnow and a few on worms like the trick worm and u tail zoom worm, but lately i have not been able to catch anything except for a small dink and a mayan cichlid in the last 2 weeks. Any ideas or tips or lures to use? I was looking into the neko rig to try today.

shimano slx xt maintenance
@garroyo130 so the hole isn’t meant for putting oil in it at all and you don’t rinse with cold water? That video is helpful.

Return or Keep rod
so an update on the rod, it looks fine after catching a few bass this weekend and the rod didn’t get worse or anything so it should be good, thanks to all that helped.

shimano slx xt maintenance
Hello, so i was wondering how to do maintenance on a bait casting reel specifically the xt reel. What do y’all do to clean your reels, like basic cleaning? Also it says on the manual to rinse under cold tap water and then relube parts with grease and oil, do y’all rinse it often or at all? I was thinking as far as basic maintenance every few months to just wipe it down and put oil in the worm gear, brake and the hole where the spool is etc, and maybe grease, but is regreasing necessary? which grease do y’all like to use? Lastly, is this hole a lube port? (sorry for all the questions, i just like to take care of all my equipment fishing and none fishing related)

so i’m not sure how old that nail hardener is but will epoxy work too? My dad has it.
-
Return or Keep rod

Return or Keep rod
@thunderblack is this it? Do you know what the actual product is though? My family owns a nail salon so i’m pretty sure they will have it but not that brand. @DomQ haha i was thinking the same thing and as someone said before if something happens it’s under warranty anyway, i got 20 bucks back so i got the rod for 3 bucks with discounts and everything not bad lol

Return or Keep rod
@thunderblack is sally nails a brand? or a particular product? like what’s the actual ingredients of it? epoxy? or is that brand better for this?

Return or Keep rod
can anyone tell me what’s wrong with this rod?
-
Return or Keep rod
I guess my call to wanna keep it was good lol, i appreciate your time, but can anyone tell me why this rod has so many fractures and cracks (my uncle gave it to me like this) it’s a shimano inshore series teramar, it’s only the last two guides, i believed he used it for saltwater for like 2-4 years before he gave me this stradic reel too @Delaware Valley Tackle
-
Return or Keep rod
@MickD i meant where the rod holds the guide not the actual guide sorry if my grammar was off
-
Return or Keep rod
I mean i will wait if i have to, rather not have a rod that is doomed to break quickly, but from everyone’s suggestion so far it seems like it’s just a ‘surface abrasion’.

Return or Keep rod
Yes i have the same rod 7 MH/F, i spoke with a few people and everyone said it should be fine so i’m gonna see if i can get a discount on this rod and if not i’ll exchange, but i rather be fishing than waiting ? that rod looks like it’s never been used?

Return or Keep rod
@MN Fisher wow 40 year old rod with no blemishes?? can i see it? So do you think i should keep it and take a discount or get a new rod.
