I'm looking into buying an 8 carrier line for my spinning reels. Since I don't want to waste time and money with a crappy line I want to hear your guys input. Which of these 8 carrier lines do you prefer super8slick v2 and 832. If you have any others that you have enjoyed I'd like to hear that too.

I find 832 better in all aspects except color retention.

832 all the way & I’ve used both 

I've used both, and think they are both fantastic lines. Never had an issue with either.

I have only used Super Slick V2, not the older version.

I have heard the older SS V2 has some issues.

 

Since 2005, I've been using braided line extensively, including Power Pro, Berkley, Sufix & Seaguar.

In the main, the difference between brands of braided lines is underwhelming.

I'm on record as an advocate of Sufix 832 braid, but feel obligated to elaborate.

In breaking strengths below 20-lb, Sufix 832 sports larger diameters than Power Pro Spectra.

Not sure why, but it's probably due to its central strand of Goretex,

which allegedly neutralizes the buoyancy of polyethylene braid.

   On a spinning reel, I had more wind knots with 832. However ...  I'm a shorecaster, so I'm  fishing the northern bank and facing the southern wind in spring. I also use in-line spinners a fair amount.

   With a senko or a worm, I didn't see any difference.        jj

I'm using both and have noticed given equal diameters 832 casts better. PP SS V2 seems stiffer with more guide slap so less distance. The one trade off with 832 is that I, too have had some issues with wind knots. The SS has been perfect on my light baitcaster, though. I keep going back to Fins Windtamer for spinning even though it's a 4 carrier.

I like 832. Used 10lb and got wind knots. Went to 20lb and have no problems with knots on my spinning set up. Will be going with 40lb soon on my casting set up. 

I have tried just about every braid out there and I keep coming back to 832.  It is more durable, it doesn't fray, it holds a knot better and for the most part it keeps its color reasonably long.  That said, I exclusively fish spinning rod setups, so I rarely go over 20 lb braid, almost never go over 15 lbs, and I find that PowerPro no SSV2 line to equally as good as 832 (believe PP has a slightly smaller diameter).  I fish PP Vermillion Red 15lb test on all my jerkbait setups and it casts like a dream, holds a knot really well and plays very well on spinning rods (no wind knots or handling issues) flying through the guides.  It is a tad bit noisy, but honestly at this point and my age, I am more focused on catching fish than the sound of the line passing through my guides.

 

Not to confuse or complicate matters, but THE best line I have found for finesse applications, ie casting, handling, abrasion resistant and overall performance is Sufix Nanobraid.  This stuff is AMAZING.  It is on all my true finesse rods, ie drop shot, NED, neko, weightless worms, spybaits, hair jigs etc.  It casts A MILE with all my setups and its breaking strength is exceptional, as I have caught 5 lb smallies on this line never once was I worried about line breakage.  Knot strength is great.  Color retention is very good.  Just a great line, available all the way up to 14 lbs I believe. I fish 10 and 12 lb test regularly on my setups and love it.  

You might want to look into Finns and Gamma.  I do like being able to guy in bulk.  

I do like 832.  I prefer Superslick v2. 1st. version was ok but the v2 is a big improvement. I've been using #10 in blue and its keeping its colour... so far. I'd like to try one of the nano braids next season.

I have the power pro ss8 V2 in 15pd on my spinning rod and I like it alot. But I might have to try that sufix 832 or the newer 131 when it comes out.

I prefer the Power Pro. I tried the Sufix, and just didn't care for it as well. I feel like the PP casts better for me at least. It really all just comes down to preference. They're both top notch lines.
