Hit the Delta last week.

Featured Replies

The wife and I hit the delta last Friday and it was a beautiful day out there, a little windy but not bad.  We launched from Brannan Island and about 1 hour in I got a 2 3/4 pounder.  The wife has yet to catch a LMB and she started off frogging, then a chatter bait and then a jig.  I can see the frustration on her face and I suggested she switch to a ned rig with TRZ finesse bait on it.  The hits started coming.  Lots of dinks but a total of 5 in the boat for her but a pretty big one she lost due to her having the drag all whacky!  They were small but she had fun!

Ned rig is always a solid option for someone starting out. A wacky rig is also one I'd suggest trying, just smash the barb down because they like to swallow the hook with them.
