slow fishing new map

I went to Tepic lake with my kayak Sunday, Monday.  Fishing was slow, only landed a few baby bass.  I was able to make a map of the lake with my new Garmin, and found a few trees that I didn't know were there.  Here are a few screen shots of my two days paddling the lake. Color changes every 4 feet of depth.  Water is very high and muddy, it will be a couple months before I will be able to fish much more than the shoreline, but I will be ready when it clears.  I was able to map 75% of the lake, and I am tired.

Very cool!  I'm contemplating a new fish finder...the Garmin Echomaps look good...especially when you can map lakes.

I just bought the 64cv plus.  I'm still learning how to operate it, but so far very impressed.  It came with the world wide map I needed for fishing the ocean here.  I was happy when I had no trouble mapping my new favorite lake when it didn't even show a lake on the map.  I need to purchase a High Wide transducer.  The unit came with a medium chirp frequency transducer which will work great for offshore, but high wide chirp would be much better for shallow lakes.

Now THAT IS KOOL!!! Are you able to export to a computer or IPad screen and save it?  How many acres is the lake?  I would love to see how you have it set up on your kayak.

Thanks for sharing

Map is stored on an SD card, I haven't been able to open it on my computer, but I can share it on Garmin's website, as well as down load other peoples maps and put them on a card.  The lake is around 2 miles long, and 3/4 miles wide.  Not very big, but I have landed some very large bass there this summer.  Three over 10, a dozen or so over 7.  Lots of baby bass, but zero medium size fish.  Strange lake, one or two bites a day, but I hope to up the success rate with my new electronics.  Pictures of the kayak were taken when I had finished two days of fishing with almost no sleep.  Boat looks trashed.  I started the trip with a more organized kayak.
