Trouble with jackal grinch

Man, this thing draws bites and big bites... but hook up ratio has been straight up terrible.    I probably only put 10-15% of blow ups in the boat.    Threw it today on two different rods... powell 735 frog rod.. and tried on powell 723 .. caught one each on them... neither one had an advantage of the other.  I like it on the frog rod..

What's y'alls experience with this bait? Any mods that I can do? I pulled the hooks up a little

Used mine one day and didn't land a single fish.  Haven't thrown it since.  I like the concept,  but just figure there's better options

I was gonna buy one some time back but decided against it after reading all the negative reviews on it. Sounds like you're not the only one who has horrible hook-up ratio on this bait.

It just stinks because it was drawing strikes, and i like that i can stop it and fish it like a frog and i can throw it and skip it into tight spots that I can't do with a walking bait.  There has to be a way to mod it, I'm gonna keep playing with how I bend the hooks out a hair and pull the out horizontally a bit.  Also gonna sharpen those hooks and try it again tmw.
