I have 2 trips this summer of extreme lengths, i wanted to know what extra parts and stuff like that you all normally bring for your trailer on long trips?

I would suggest a quality spare tire and two quality spare hub assemblies as well as the necessary tools.

I haul my boat to Canada from TN every year and in addition the the above items make sure you have a jack and a lug wrench to fit your boat tires also every time you stop check your hubs to see how warm they are tighten down your boat cover if you are using one and make sure your tires are inflated.

AAA RV Plus and somebody else will look after getting your boat off the Hwy.

And don't forget a grease gun and grease for your trailer bearings, as well as a good quality tire guage for all your tires!!

2 spares aren't a bad idea...  last flat I had was "after hours" so I had the remainder of a long trip to go with no spare after that initial change.

The hydralic jack and a box with all of the above sit under the rear seat of my truck at all times. I have only had to change the spare tire twice in 30 years. Never, ever have I lost a hub on a trip and I'm talking Texas to Alabama, and the Tennesse area or Southwest into Mexico from the Houston area.

The very first thing I would do is pull the hubs, clean, inspect, replace any pitted bearings/cups, and pack them.

Ya know, you check, everything is fine and then suddenly the Highway Patrol pull you over cuz one of the lightbulbs in your trailer is burned.

Been there happened that.  ::o

Take your tool box out to your trailer and make sure that you have a wrench and socket for every nut and bolt on the trailer.  My plate that holds the u bolts that secure the axle to the leaf springs broke on the gravel road out from Stick Marsh.  I was only 875 miles from home! We had to disassemble the jack and use the jack mount plate to hold everything together until we could get to Northern tool.  Good thing I had all of the right wrenches and sockets.  The next best thing that I had was a good old corn fed farm boy to help fix the trailer!

there are some great list of things to take. one thing take a new wire harness, both truck and boat. I know its sounds wierd, but I take my boat to cananda twice a year , 1,500 mile round trip each time. one year I hit a ground hog and it pulled the wire harness off my truck. I had no lights for the trailer. I didn't have a new harness, so at 4:30 am on the side of the intersate, I was hard wireing the trailer lights into the truck so I could get going.

I still have the scars from the exhaust pipe burns on my arms ( truck had dual exhaust out the back.
