Mississippi River Fishing: Missouri

Featured Replies

I was wondering if the Mississippi River, the part by Missouri has much bass fishing to offer? Since it’s so close to my house and big. Thanks!

I've never fished it but from what I understand they are there, just hard to find especially south of St Louis below where the Missouri and Illinois Rivers dump in it's much more muddy.  Above that is better.

Up here in Northern Mo. bass can be caught when the water is not flooded . Rip rap banks , wing dams  and backwater areas are  what I target . Ive been told but not had any luck personally that bass can be caught on the sand bars on the downstream side of islands .

From my point of view, both of these replies are 100% accurate.     jj
