Costa Del Mar and Prescription?

Featured Replies

I have been looking to get a pair of Costas for fishing as well as general use. Had an optometry appointment today and found that I would need glasses for driving. Unfortunately I’m covered through Kaiser and they don’t carry them. I would need to buy the glasses and get the prescription lenses through Kaiser. Anyone out there have experience with Kaiser’s lenses? Would they compare to Costa’s in quality?
I currently use a pair of Maui Jim non-prescription and am not really happy with them. Would like to get the Costas. I’ve tried some on at Bass Pro and their selection of frames fit better.

Costa sold out or got bought out and are not what they use to be IMO. I have a pair I bought a couple years ago, Fisch 580G. The rubber came off around the bridge of my nose so I contacted them. Not covered by their "limited lifetime warranty", they determined that was caused by normal wear and tear. More than a little unhappy about it.

Odd, I had a different experience. I put a deep gouge in one of my lenses (580p, not g) and when I contacted them willing to buy new lenses, they completely replaced the sunglasses free of charge. I couldn't have been more pleased.
