Trapper trebles TW sale, worth it?

Featured Replies

Looking to pick up 5 packs of these at the TW 25 days sale or a jerkbait to get my order to the free shipping level. I have read varied opinions on these hooks and at the price wonder if they are worth a shot to replace some thrashed trebles?

I ordered some just to try. But i likely wouldnt ever pay the retail. My concern is the gap beloew the barb. Maybe not wide enough? or deep enough?. But time will tell i guess.

My thoughts are I can get some replacement trebles cheap, but if I like them they are never to be seen again. If they stink I am out only 5 bucks. Just need to get above free shipping to use up my 55 buck gift card. The bait I was looking at is discontinued too, so if I like it I have one lol.

Just wish they had the eagle claw ned heads in stock, would have gotten them instead.

I have one lipless that came with them installed back when trapped was in business , super sharp sticky hooks ! And haven’t had any issues with them. I purchased a couple packs when I saw them on sale at tw.

I bought a bunch a while ago to replace some of my kvd squarebills hooks. I like them a lot, the only issue I've had so far with them is unhooking is sometimes hard because of the design. I fish a lot at night so it does take me quite a bit to unhook a bass depending on where its hooked.

Good luck with those. They have "been on clearance" for at least a year. Terrible design. Look at them.  How much of a lip can those things grab? They LOOK cool, (different), but no thanks.

I have a box of the treble. They are sharpe and cheap enough to replace on some throw away cranks when I find them at the lake. If you want to use them for that I say go.

I do however love the size 1 for drop shot. The hookup is perfect and no ripping up the fish’s lip.

Thank you for all the replies. I ultimately passed and went with the Dou Realis Flat Jerk in a color that is not in the Yo Zuri line, Bluebasser says they are the same bait.

Some of the reservations from above just kept me from keeping them in the cart along with that I bought some KVD trebles last year that I have yet to use. Will I regret not getting them, unsure because terminal tackle always loses in my TW cart.

Do not know about the treble Trapper hooks, but when they hit the market a few years ago bought several pacs of 3/0 and 4/0 hooks out of curiosity and still have a few left.  I was amazed at their hooking efficiency from the gitgo and never lost a fish.  Senkos threaded on to them with no problem at all.
