For couple weeks I start to throw big baits again specially in my night time fishing, Some issue surfaced as I do it more and more. That’s the leader getting tangled by swim bait hooks or even  bbz rat.

I am leader guy, no matter what I have braid to leader and even I have 30lb fluorocarbon leader it still tangled some times, for example last night when I was casting baitsanity.

so now I was thinking to change my leaders to 50lb , Just to let you know my main line is 80 in my 908 rod and 65lb in my 906 Shia no rod. So any idea? Should I change leaders to 50lb or stay on 30lb and get tangled two times out of 20 cast?

 

Lures snag front hooks when they tumble during the cast. Try reducing the casting rod tip speed and keeping light thumb contact on the spool. This will prevent lure tumbling when trying to get a few extra yards.
