Good article and good reminder.  About 4 years ago, I bought all the hardware and made up a bunch of these in different weights and hook size combinations; never thrown one yet.

Well, this little item represents the best tackle improvement I have

made in over a decade, perhaps ever.  Although you may find it useful

for a number of presentations, I use it almost exclusively with the Rage

Structure Bug.

I guess you could say it’s almost like a weightless TR with weight. Sounds stoopid, but that’s what it looks like. The plastic moves weightless but there is weight for it to drop faster. 
 

Might have to give that a go. 

I've used this rig several times and had success with it. I was impressed with how little it hung up in cypress knees and laydown trees.
