What to Upgrade First

Featured Replies

Running an '07 Triton VT 19/90 Mercury Optimax. Boat has a Garmin 93SV and Helix 7 at the console and a Helix 7 MEGA SI at the bow. Trolling motor is an 80lb Fortrex.

Next season, im looking to upgrade. I ideally want a 12" Helix with 360 and an Ultra up front and 2 Garmin 93SV at the console linked together, one for mapping and one for imaging. Im thinking the 360 and 12" will be more important than the new trolling motor or another console unit first, then add the trolling motor after, but im not sure and want some advice.

thanks

Sounds like you have a plan. I had a fortrex for my last boat and they are built like a tank. But I would be the opposite and go with the upgraded TM first. My choice is a Ultrex. Then all your electronics up front can be linked and spot lock as they say is a game changer. JMHO but like I said you seem to have a good plan already. Good luck on your choice..

Yeah that makes sense too, that path means I wouldn't have to get a different 360 transducer fr the ultrex. I could use the ultrex and keep running the helix 7 up front.
