I just got done with a re-org in my work area including a clean-up of the work bench. Now I can finally get to the maintenance of my reels.

Course it's another couple months before ice-out...so I should have time.

I do mine as needed.  As soon as one is not up to snuff I put it aside and clean it before the next trip.

Ya, well currently the reports have an average ice thickness of 17" on Minnetonka...with temps not going above zero for a few days, that'll probably increase. Gonna be a bit before it all melts.

I'm doing a 'major' project this year. Replacing any drag-washers that aren't Carbontex with Carbontex...this is going to mean ALL my spinning reels as even the Pres-XT has oil-felt.

In the process of measuring thickness now so I get the right stock for cutting my own.

Been doing mine past few months but it seems it got me looking at acquiring older reels. I guess to see how they were built and worked. Latest is DAM Quick Champion 700B. Needs anti-reverse lever clip and handle (and line), but is working great.

Yeah, I’ve contemplated doing some bearing upgrades but just haven’t pulled the trigger

I got the sheets on order - should be here Tuesday...then I get to have 'fun'

Wasn't as bad as I originally thought...only BC I gotta upgrade is the President. So 7 spinners and 1 BC.
