Tomorrow (errr, today). It's happening.

Featured Replies

The ponds have unfrozen. It's going to be 60* and sunny. I'm off work.

I got off work at 2am. It's almost 7am. I just spent 2 hours prepping a pond bag and a few rods to take with me tomorrow. I'm getting up at 11am. I have until 2pm to fish, and then I have to go do my taxes at 3pm.

I'll be fishing a Jack Hammer with a Zako trailer; a 6th Sense Divine Hybrid Jig with a Rage Bug trailer; a Dark Sleeper; and the Ned Rig. I'll adjust to other things if necessary. I'm so excited about having seen the ponds wide open that I don't know if I'll actually be able to sleep. The lakes need some more time.

Hopefully I'll get on my first fish of 2021.

Yup. I got to slip in a quickie between 4:30 and 6 pm today. So nice to feel some warmth without being wind blown. Had to step over thick rock hard shore ice to wade in. Not a whiff throwing 5 presentations, but was able to get a feel for the working range of a new rod. Cormorants were busy about 200ft offshore, so that's a good sign. Saw a dude I know when I was exiting. He got a small Pickerel on a splitshot rig with a night crawler. Dropping down into the 20s yet again again over the weekend, but things should start crackin' next week.

I'm hoping my local small ponds are open by Sunday. I have a feeling I may be defeated as well but it will be a blast trying. I should clarify I will probably skunk for bass but the ponds have rainbows so ill likely catch a few fish.

Great News   Enjoy

Still waiting on my end, but should be ice free here by Sunday.

They actually do have me captive. The bass dominate a huge part of my life from my thoughts to my wallet lol
