I am about to get a G Loomis IMX Pro 892s JWR and just wondering if it is too heavy for finesse applications such as Ned and Drop Shots.  I already have a medium power IMX I can use but was wondering how the 892 would do.   I plan to try it for skipping senkos and tubes up under docks.

 

I also am getting a Stradic 2500....if anyone has a 1000 model they would like to trade for, let me know.  2500 is just a bit bigger than I like.

Your new rod will be fine. 

I have the same rod with a Stradic 3000 and i use it for everything up to around 1/2 oz or so. Anything more i use my baitcasting rig. 

 

you will like the 892S its a great rod. Casts a mile cause of the extra length. I use mono on my rig and I use 10 pound test.
