Berkley gulp?

Featured Replies

Anyone here throw any of the Berkley gulp products for bass? I've heard a bunch of negative things about gulp from other anglers for bass fishing. I've only used Gulp saltwater and gulp minnows before.

I use some of the Gulp Worms. I like them but I like the Berkley stuff I use. I have a really shallow rectangular container that is liquid tight on the boat deck with that Gulp recharge solution in it. If I’m finished fishing a Gulp worm or fluke but know I’ll be picking it back up I leave it rigged up and lay it in that container and snap the lid shut. This keeps it fresh and in decent shape. The draw back of the Gulp stuff. Holds up good in the water or in the Gulp solution. Not in the air. You know that with the saltwater versions.

I’m gonna try some of the saltwater flukes in freshwater. Had a post on it the other month. One local guy stocks them (all that Gulp stuff) and two of the shiner patterns looked great.

I haven't used Gulp in a few years now, but I will say that it works.

the 3 inch minnows are deadly on a drop shot when the fish are pressured or in a bad mood.

Gulp pumpkin crawler was my introduction to plastic worms while river fishing for bass.  I used to kick the crap out of them before I even knew what I was doing.  Mid-summer with a low river I’d just T-rig them With out weight.  Caught a lot of smallies, channel cats, rock bass, and pike out of the Shiawassee river.  I was by them by the tub full at one point.

the walleye guys on the Saginaw bay usually keep a couple packs around.  When they run out of real worms they will put gulp crawlers on worm harnesses to finish out their limits

I like the minnows but that's it. They're a pain because they're expensive, fragile, and they dry out.
