I picked up some of these. They are neat looking.  
 

I imagine the bristles will broom up some grit underwater.   I’ll try them next week in the California Delta.

When I saw your thread title, I immediately knew you were speaking of the 'skinny bear' brand style of jig.  They are on my list...reviewers swear by them.  The design looks like it would take more weight to get the same fall rate as a standard jig.
