Adrena 7’3 MH or 7’2 H

Featured Replies

I have a 7’3 MH and a 7’2 H. The applications for this rod are wobble heads, flashy swimmers, spinnerbaits, dark sleepers, chatterbaits, etc. Most are around the 1/2 ounce range. Which one should I keep for those applications?

I haven’t them long enough to make a judgement. I was hoping to hear from someone with some on the water experience with both.

I have the 7’3” mh and it definitely works great for flashy swimmers up to 4.8, spinners, chatters and most moving baits (w/o trebles).  I can’t imagine the heavy being better for any of those, it’s likely more of a pure bottom contact rod. I’ve thrown the 1/2 oz dark sleeper on the mh but haven’t caught anything with it yet.

I have the 7'4" Heavy and find it to be too stiff for anything under 3/4oz.

I wish I would have gotten the 7'3" and will one of these days.

Since you own both rods shouldn’t you be the one telling us? ?

Yep

Why not take both out and fish them the same.  Keep which feels best to you?

You already have them, why not keep them both.

You have enough techniques there to use both rods.

I have both those rods and enjoy them both. They are pretty versatile and can interchange on certain techniques.

I am not keeping them both because I picked up a good used NRX 873c to be used as my jig and worm rod (was using the 7’2 H for that). I was hoping to hear from some Adrena owners who have fished both for a while and could give me an informed opinion. I know I could put in the time and fish them both and figure it out on my own. I just wanted somebody else’s 2 cents worth.

What do you use the 7’4 for? I was looking at it today and it really peaked my interest?

While looking at the adrena’s today, the two guys in the store I was at owned 9 adrena’s between the two of them. Both of them had 2 7’2” heavies as they said it’s surprising how versatile it is. They said for 1 rod to cover so much and hold almost nrx sensitivity, the 7’2” would be it
