My current front line combos are as follows.

1) Spinning - 6'6 - MLF. 10# yellow braid to leader.
2) Spinning - 6'6 - MF. 10# yellow braid to leader.
3) Casting 7.3:1 - 6'8 - MF. 12 # flouro
4) Casting 7.3:1 - 6'8 - MHF. 15# flouro

5) Spare casting reel with 50# braid to frog on the MH.

So my question is, what do I want to add to round out the top 5? Honestly I don't feel like I need a heavy rod. Should I go with another MH? Ultra light? I will fish anywhere and mostly just want to build a fun, capable, adaptable arsenal. I don't do tournaments. I mostly wade and kayak fish.

I'd go with another MH.

 

If I took all 12 rigs that I could take on the canoe - 4 are MH/F, even if I only took the 10 that are dedicated to the canoe, 3 are MH/F...it's the most versatile rod.

I know why I have a MH/F spinning rig...what's your reasoning?

I’m just getting back into fly fishing for bass, it’s something different your local fish likely have not seen before and a nice diversion from the conventional.

That's kind of the way I'm leaning. Was also debating the UL but my medium light can throw 1/32 ounce jig heads and 1" grubs with ease if I'm targeting panfish. I loosen the drag and its a blast on the braid.

Yeah not sure I'm ready to jump into fly fishing just yet lol. It's a whole new expensive animal!

Ya - I have a ML/F rig for most of my finesse work and a L/F rig for ultra-finesse

For me, I'm pants at skipping with BCs but can skip with spinning rigs easily, so got the MH/F spinning rig to skip jigs, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, etc...my M/F spinning rig is for skipping lighter stuff.

To quote Catt you can make bass fishing as complicated as you want. Your tackle needs to suite your needs.

Depends on what you do as fisherman...your style, things that suit your needs.   I could say that you u a 7'6 heavy to xH flipping rod but you may not pitch, punch, and throw heavy topwaters like I do.  

Thanks for the replies guys. I went with a 7' MHF to frog with 50 pound braid. It won't get a ton of use, and my frogging spots are mostly lily pad fields with open spaces. Plenty of power.
