RobA Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 I'll be going to Black Lake NY at the end of May for an annual trip. I was thinking of trying the Alexandria Bay area for the first time. Any suggestions for a good place to launch my boat? A less crowded ramp is preferred. Quote
RichF Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 Alex Bay is a zoo my friend. I've lived 25 mins away from there for most of my years and never launched or fished around the bay. Clayton is busy too but not nearly as bad. French Creek marina is always a decent choice. You can go further north too. Chippewa Bay has a good state ramp with no fees, it's just shallow and a bit treacherous getting out to the main river. Morristown has a good ramp too that I believe is also free. All the state parks have ramps, you just have to pay to enter. Grass Point, Kring Point, and Keewaydin come to mind. 1 Quote
RobA Posted March 19, 2021 Author Posted March 19, 2021 Thanks @RichF We're staying at The Log Cabins on Black Lake. Looks like the Morristown ramp is less than 10 miles from there. Quote
Super User webertime Posted March 24, 2021 Super User Posted March 24, 2021 There's a ramp right next to the Otter Creek Inn in A-Bay. Quiet and protected ramp 1 Quote
