Does leader length affect casting distance? I am using a 5-6’ leader with an Alberto knot and feel like I was casting further with a shorter leader, maybe it’s just me

    I haven't noticed a casting distance difference between my leader starting length of 6'-7' and my 'change out' length of 3'.

     

    Really it shouldn't make a difference.

    Depending upon the diameter of the leader, yes it could.

    It depends on the size of the guides the size of the knot and how heavy your casting.
