If in the last two seasons you were at a SOMD pond and some some dude squatting on the bank trying to swap out a spool while muttering to himself, that was me.  I tried so many different things and wasted so much 16lb Inivx.

There are no bass in SOMD.... :)

I don't fish Super Flukes that much anymore (for no particular reason), but when I do it's usually on 10 or 12 lb.

Not a fan of the Rio, the regular Rico, Oh yes.

Nice collection. The Michael was the 1st I know of and smaller diameter faster working then all the others.

Splash-It uses chicken feathers and Owner hooks my choice of what is availed today. Not a fan of Yellow Magic.

What is missing is Megabass open gill popper (PopMax) that came out in the early 90’s.

Zell Roland modified Pop-R’s to spit and faster retrieve similar to the Michael. When bass are feeding on Threadfin Shad the fast spitters are the ticket.

Thanks, (If my wife asks, that's all of them :) ) The Pop-X is in a box with a bunch of poppers with no rear hooks, I took them off to put on spinners. I just found a Pop-R in progress, It's stripped down to bone, and just needs the hole in the filed lip filled with a little JB Weld. I think it's going to be a good one. I used to enjoy tying feathered trebles, but now it seems like work, I gotta do a bunch. I get my Yellow Magics from Japan, the ones you get here are not as good.

I like the thicker fluoro both for strength and how it affects the fluke. I think the thicker line makes the lure slower, so like I can fish it with fast, hard twitches, and the fluke will make a quick dart to the side and but then quickly stop.  I don't know if the bass like it better that way, but they very much seem to be able to get a better bite on it when fished like that.

I can see that.

I have a partial spool of 20lb Shooter and once it gets almost kicked I am going to spool it up on that AFC spool and test my theory ad absurdum.  I will also be taking bets on how many casts I can get in before I blow it up.
