Daiwa Tatula Elite vs Daiwa Tatula CT

Featured Replies

Is there really much difference in the Tatula CT and the Tatula Elite?  I am looking for a reel for a Dobyns crankbait rod and would be throwing square bill crankbaits and 1/2 oz lipless crankbaits.  Is the Elite worth the $100 extra for what I'm going to be using the rod for?

Biggest difference will be casting distance. CT is a solid reel, but the Elite will get you approx 20% more distance...

It's a more compact, nicer feeling and further casting reel for sure.  Is that worth $100 to you?  Only you can decide.  I think they are a little high priced considering what I can get a JDM Zillion for which is a totally different animal and a huge step up.

I just bought a Tatula Elite for $230. You can get a Zillion for that? Will Zillion cast as far, how do they compare, you say it's a huge step up. In what way? TIA

$284 on Asian fish portal.  Crazy smooth reels and they bomb baits with the SV boost spool and can skip well.  Also has a 34mm spool which has tons of spool options.  Mpre compact and even better paminm. Made in Japan ect.  Ect.  Big step up.

Listen up here, friend.  I already have too many reels.  Stop helping the Bait Monkey!  :Pistols:

Probably won't happen.  I have never used an MGL spooled Shimano.  Going to get the Scorpion MGL from Asian Portal.  But...who knows what can happen a few months down the road.  :teeth:

For crankbaits, I would say if you can swing a Tatula Elite then do it. They cast approximately 20% further than the other reels in the Tatula line and are also nice and small in profile. For crankbaits, the extra casting distance is welcome as it will keep your bait in the strike zone longer.
