RUNCL Topwater Frogs

Featured Replies

A couple of years ago I bought a huge batch of various fishing lures as I was trying to get more serious about bass fishing (i.e., fishing with lures instead of live bait). Included was a set of inexpensive RUNCL Topwater Frogs (set of 5 from Amazon), which I never used. Since that time I've definitely learned a lot and tried different techniques and lures. I now want to try using topwater frogs but I'm curious whether I should use the RUNCL frogs or purchase more well known brands that are more expensive. The reviews of RUNCL frogs on Amazon are definitely mixed so I thought I would see if you all had any insights. Should I not waste my time with RUNCL? (I don't mind spending the money.) Thanks!

I'd try them to see if the bass want them. I've used 'cheap lures' and had success.

Can't hurt anything, and if they work - it saves you money.

Use them. When first starting some frogs will probably fall victim to branches and such so use these until youre comfortable.

Use them. If you're not getting many hookups, sharpen the hooks and bend them out just a tad from the body. Some of the cheaper frogs are made of harder plastic and it's harder for the fish to collapse it and get the hook point. If they suck get you some Booyah Pad Crashers. I'm partial to the popping one.
