How often do you still use an anchor?
I recently got a bass boat and am accessorizing it. The box anchor seems like a great idea for storage. What pound box anchor do you think I need for an 18' fiberglass boat - only used for emergencies? Thanks!

Lake Anna
Thanks for the tips - very much appreciated! Don't know about a seaplane hanger as this will be my first time staying in this area (mom rented a house for the family). I definitely will only be fishing early and late as daytime will be family time (wife would kick me out ?). I'll provide a report when I get back.

Maryland's Who's who!
I fished the Seneca Creek aqueduct area last Wed early AM from shore. On my 4th cast, a big one nailed my Whopper Plopper and proceeded to hang me up in some timber and got off. I was distraught ?. I caught one small one shortly after but no other bites. Then all the kayaks and paddle boarders started coming through so I left. (I don't know about the mud situation on the ramp.)

Lake Anna
I will be at Lake Anna next week for a family vacation, staying way up lake near Hickory Cut. Unfortunately, I'll only have a canoe so my range will be limited. I'm wondering if anyone has any advice for this general area and time of year? Many thanks.

Circuit breaker on trolling motor battery
Thanks guys - all of your responses are much appreciated! I was told the battery is a couple years old and was never used. When I first got it, I tried to charge it but nothing was happening so I was initially worried. But I hooked it up to the trolling motor in my garage and it worked fine. I will be taking them out next week on the water for the first time so we'll see what happens. Won't be going to a large body so no problem to paddle back if needed ?

Thanks. I guess there's not much else you can throw in all the muck, etc.

Circuit breaker on trolling motor battery
I have another question for you fine folks. Using the battery I have been describing (12v 100ah lead acid) with a 55lb Minn Kota Endura Max transom motor on a jon/row boat, how long will the battery last? I know there are various factors, but in general, should it last for an all day fishing outing as I won’t be running the motor constantly?

Nice catches! Besides frogs, what are your top lures when walking the canal?

Circuit breaker on trolling motor battery
It reads SHORTSTOP 12V Z45 50A. No brand nor model #. Here is the picture of the other side. The copper screw is labeled BAT which has the plate connector that was connected to the positive terminal on the battery. The silver screw is labeled AUX. I'm assuming I connect the trolling motor positive wire to this AUX connection.

Circuit breaker on trolling motor battery
Newbie here so please forgive my ignorance. I just bought a trolling motor and the seller gave me a battery as well. The battery (lead acid) has a small device on the positive terminal which I believe is a circuit breaker. (The seller didn't know what it was as he said he never used the motor.) I'm wondering how does this work? I don't see any switches on it. Do I attach the trolling motor positive wire to this device? Thanks for your help.

Line & Lures for 4 rod/reel set-ups?
I'd like to use straight braid to avoid having to tie on leaders. Of course I'm willing to learn and do it if it makes a difference. I'm assuming you don't notice a different using straight braid? What braid (brand/type) and color do you use?

Fishing docks as a co-angler
Last year was the first time fishing tourneys as a co-angler in a bass club. It was a lot of fun and I learned a ton. However, I found it most difficult when fishing docks. I just didn't have much success fishing behind the boater. I tried to target different spots and use different lures, but felt like I didn't have time to do much as we moved fairly fast and could never get into any rhythm. Perhaps I just need more experience but I'm wondering if there are specific tips for fishing docks as a co-angler? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Line & Lures for 4 rod/reel set-ups?
Novice co-angler looking for some advice. Last year was my first time fishing tourneys as a co-angler in a bass club - only using spinning gear. This winter I got my first baitcasting set-up (Curado DC, St. Croix rod) so I'm excited to learn this. For the tourneys this year, I plan to bring 4 set-ups and I'm trying to figure out what line and lures/techniques to use on each. I realize this may vary depending on various factors (season, type of water, weather, location, etc.) but I'm just looking for general ideas from all of your experience. (I hope to get more baitcasting set-ups after I get used to it.) 1. Baitcasting reel 7.4:1, 7'1" MH Fast rod 2. Spinning reel 5.2:1, 7'0" MH Fast rod 3. Spinning reel 5.2:1, 6'6" M Fast rod 4. Spinning reel 5.2:1, 6'6" M (Fast or Moderate Fast?) rod Given these 4 set-ups, what line type (mono, fluoro, braid), line strength, and technique/lures (topwater, crankbait, jerkbait, spinnerbait, bladed jigs, swim jigs, drop shot, t-rig, wacky, etc.) would you recommend for each? Many thanks!

Maryland's Who's who!
Hi all, I'm fishing Conowingo Reservoir next weekend in a tournament. I've never fished there so any advice would be appreciated. (Plus, I'm a relative newbie to fishing with artificial lures.) I'm a co-angler so I won't have control on locations, but would welcome any recommendations on lures and techniques. Thanks! -Jeremy

Thoughts about Braided Treble Hooks?
Thanks for the info. Can these be added to lures or you're just referring to some lures that come this way? I'm thinking it's the latter... My issues have been with the Whopper Plopper 110, which is pretty heavy (for me, anyway). I changed out the trebles to lighter hooks and it seemed to help. But I may try the double split rings or braided trebles. Thanks everyone!

What is a rotating hook hanger?

Thoughts about Braided Treble Hooks?
Looking for feedback from anyone who has used them. Description states they will lose less fish because the braid allows the hook to completely turn while a regular treble hook will stop and the torque may allow the fish to pop off. (Apologies if this has been discussed but I searched the forums and didn't find anything.)
