Mojo bass

Featured Replies

Which casting rod do you guys recommend between the 7 ft m\h moderate fast or the 7'1 m\h fast action mojo bass? I would use it mainly for topwater, chatterbaits and jigs. I don't throw more than half ounce lures. I know these rods are similar in action just want to know what rod is more versatile?

I would say the 7' fast mh or even the med.

The one I have is a good rod but not very sensitive for bottom contact baits.  It would be great for chatterbaits and top water but jigs, the Avid lineup is where I would start.

If you are going to throw jigs, fast action. The fast action will be more sensitive.

To me moderate action rods are for crankbait or treble hook baits.. I don't use them for anything else.

I own the 7’1 medium heavy fast action, it’s a decent rod. I have thrown and caught fish on chatter bait and red eye shad I think it does ok. The sensitivity is decent not great not horrible, I have used braid and fluorocarbon. I think that 1/2 oz is the sweet spot maybe 5/8. I think the only place it might struggle is on smaller size treble hooks that is where the moderate would be a little bit more forgiving for smaller hooks and sudden surges from the fish.
