Catching too many dinks. Smallies

Featured Replies

In north idaho reservoir.  Currently catching all fish in 10 -15 fow only.  All dinks.  Work out to 30 fow and bigger lures but nothing. Water temp 70 to 72 deg.  Normally on my old east texas lakes bigger lures and deeper means bigger fish

What baits are you using?

Im a few hours north of you but for me Ive found that if Im running a finesse rig to SLOW down. If I get into a groove and power fish my senko/trd/shakey/DS then I tend to get the little guys.

When I dead stick I get better bites.

Saturday morning I broke up the monotony and started running a Jerk bait over drop offs with super long pauses.

Second cast pulled a 3.2lb smallie...

Good luck!

There are probably big fish mixed in with the dinks. Like everyone above asked what are you using? You may need to mix up baits to get the bigger ones to eat.
