I was going through some of my old lire’s and ran across a box that was packed away a long time ago. In it Imfound about a dozen jars of Uncle Josh Pork Frogs in various sizes and colors. Some of the lids are rusted and I can see the rust has migrated down the bottle a bit on the inside.

I'd like to clean that up and add some new water to these. From what I can research the liquid is water and salt. I’m assuming that I can use some distilled water and salt dissolved before adding back into the jar. 
is this correct?

To rejuvenate the water in pork rind jars;

Remove the pork rind from the jars and sort by color.

Rinse the rinds in warm water, put the pork rinds in a plastic storage container in water.

Use Hain Fine Sea Salt to make heavy salt water.

1 cup salt slowly added to 2 cups boiling water, swimmer and stir until the salt is dissolved as much as possible, let cool.

Glass jars with plastic. You can use the UJ jars by washing rinsed thoroughly. Lubricate the jar lid threads with Vaseline. 

You can dye the pork rinds using liquid Rit dye, about 1 to 1 in warm water and let sit over night.

If the rind is stiff tenderize with a meat hammer on the fat side.

Put the pork rinds in the jars and fill with heavy salt water.

Add a few drops of 100% pure anise oil in each jar.

Good for the next decade.
