Improving Fish Scent Paste Consistency ?

Featured Replies

Not sure if this would be the right place to ask this important inquiry so PLEASE bare with me I am desperate to find an answer.  I have several 4oz jars of the fish scent attractant SMELLY JELLY Bass Feast that when NOT exposed to the heat of a 80*-90* or greater day the consistency is that of petroleum jelly.  Now when this scent attractant IS exposed to the normal heat of a 80*-90* + day the consistency really changes from a thick paste to more of a thick liquid form.  I'd appreciate any ideas for adding something to this SMELLY JELLY Bass Feast fish scent to help keep the consistency at a thick paste.

Megastrike is the same way. I just keep it in the cooler on hot days.

Keeping the stuff inside the cooler in a zip lock bag is probably the easiest answer.   I wonder what a teaspoon of cornstarch might do to thicken the consistency?  Once it has turned to thick liquid, does it turn back into paste when the temperature goes down or does it then stay in the thick liquid form?

Guys this stuff really gets thin once it spends a short time in the warmer temps, over 80*.  Now when I return the Smelly Jelly to a little cooler temp, lower than 70* the consistence seems to get back in the viscosity of thick Vaseline.  With the idea of adding corn starch I am thinking about the spoilage issue if not refrigerated.  Now I just found some unscented real thick consistent molding paraffin.  With a heat gun was able to melt this stuff and mix it with the attractant and am letting it cool down and then check the consistent.  Hop this works.

X2.

Keep it in a small cooler with a frozen water bottle or ice pack.
