How are you liking it?

I’m sort of shooting for the same idea you have, being able to leave my yak on the roof for weeks at a time. I’m working with an ‘17 Outback and with the yak up there I can’t open my hatchback which is obviously unworkable  for a lot of reasons.  In addition  to the ease of loading, a Hulivator would let me just pop the yak down to the side of the car so I can access the hatch when I need to.

I love it.  The Compass was a real challenge to put on the Durango.  Not just heavy,  but the rudder fixed underneath meant I couldn't stand it on the stern (and slide it up) like my other kayaks.  I have no room for a trailer at my townhouse and this turned out to be great solution.

Good to hear.  I got like 75% of the way through making adaptors that will let me mount one, then they all went out of stock and my work picked up.  I am 100% committed to getting one installed before next spring, being able to keep the yak up there for days/weeks will be amazing.

I store mine on its side in the basement.

I store mine in a meeting room at my hotel.

I moved to rural Georgia this year and found it to be really strange that homes with actual garages are few and far between. Heck, a lot of homes don;t have actual driveways, just a worn out path in the grass going up to the house.

I found a home to rent, but of course it doesn't have a garage. But it does have a screened in porch so that's where I put all of my saws and woodworking equipment, covered with a tarp. My tools are in shelves in the laundry room.

I miss having a garage.

My fiance is from rural Georgia. Coming up here to Indiana she thought it was strange that everyone has a driveway. I explained snow and plowing to her and now she gets it.

My kayak is in basement work shop area of my house on horses.. I’m always tinkering so it’s nice to have it inside  and up at a nice height to tinker with.

Nice setup. I don’t own a kayak but if I did, I would have something like this.
