St. Croix premiere 6’ med. fast

Featured Replies

Local store has this rod on sale for $90. I like the price was thinking about getting as a dock skipping rod. What else would a rod this short be beneficial for.

I'd buy it, just to have it, if not for anything else.  I'd use it as a top water rod, because I like shorter rods for throwing walking baits & poppers.  It would make a great borrower rod, for any co-anglers you bring along, who don't have alot of casting skills.  Put a smaller Zebco or something similar on it and back lash problems are solved, for the most part.

Very versatile rod, many uses.  One can never have too many fishing rods.  Sort of like womens' purses and shoes.

This was my thoughts. Might as well get it, I’ll find a good use for it.   I bought a 6’ med fast triumph for my son from them for 70 last week and he’s loving it as his first casting rod.

St. Croix has a 6' M/F in both spinning and casting. Both could be used for skipping. Which one are you discussing here?        jj

Ya I should have added that , I’m talking about the casting.

I sometimes still fish a 6' Premier MHF with a spinnerbait and trailer when I'm working in close to timber or pads. Years ago I landed a 9.25-pounder with it without any drama.
