  1. It really is nice. Incredibly light for being a travel rod. Thinking about picking up an Sustain FK to pair with it.
  2. In case anyone stumbles upon this old thread, Yamaga Blanks now makes a 4 piece travel rod called the Wizy. Expecting mine to be delivered in the next day or two.
  3. Get this one. https://jdmtackleheaven.com/products/megabass-orochi-xxx-multi-pieces-model-spinning-f1-66ks-2p-slend-type-f I have it and it's given me fun with blue gill while handling 2lb bass just fine.
  4. I have 2 of the travelers. I've thrashed on the light for 2 seasons now. Great rod.
  5. Just got to check out the new Tatula MQ. Was really surprised how nice they are.
  6. Disney hates you just as much as AARP. Just remember that.
  7. That's the way, gentlemen. Good on you.
  8. I've switched to multi-piece rods only and couldn't be happier.
  9. More than likely will end up in Putnam/Clay/St. Johns/Flagler area, but that still puts me in range for a drive down to S. Florida to wet a line on my weekends.
  10. One of the reasons I've about got the wife convinced to move to FL
  11. Penn Fathom LP 300 size
  12. Already received the Avid Trek. Had I paid full price, I'd agree I got screwed. Since I got it on clearance, I'll file it under "life happens".
  13. No, it's just not any more sensitive than rods costing half the amount. It's a good rod, but would I buy it again for over $300? Meh. I'd give this consideration https://tackletrap.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1066_3286&products_id=16993
  14. I have the Hibali. It's nice enough but I can't say I'm super impressed with it. If you're looking at Megabass Travel Rods, I have to recommend the Valkyrie World Expedition. The sensitivity for being a partially glass rod is outstanding, no dead/flat spots, and the durability has been great thus far.
  15. Okuma Komodo 364P or Penn Squall LP if weight is a factor.
  16. That's what I thought too until my high end St. Croix broke on its first outing *however* I bought a spare and I'm heading to Ft. Lauderdale next month. Redemption or confirmation? We shall see!
  17. And the rod that broke, broke the first time I used it. Ah, well. You live, you learn.
  18. Got an email yesterday saying to call them. Got through to CS this morning. They're sending me one of the new Avid Treks at no charge. Of course, the Avid is about $200 less than the Legend Trek it's replacing, but I bought my Legend when they were on clearance. Since they're waving the shipping fee, I'm only out about $50. I will say, I won't be buying any more St. Croix rods in the future.
  19. Yeah, the Loomis Escapes were disco'd. Only the Escape GLX series remains. I'd own a brace of them otherwise. For what OP wants, I'd grab a Daiwa Ardito or TFO Traveler. I own 3 Arditos and just ordered a 2nd TFO Traveler this morning. Thrashed on my ML with no problem for 2 years now. Blanks are very durable.
  20. Luvias was disco'd in the US Market. I'd spend a little extra & grab a Certate. It will balance the rod better and they are smoother than even the Luvias.
