I use pretty much use the uni knot for everything, it works on all line. The only exception is braid, where I will sometimes use a palomar, because they cinch down very tight and are very strong on braid.

Same here.  Started with a Clinch Knot then went to the Improved Clinch Knot.  Then I learned of the Uni Knot. Been using it since then without a problem regardless of line type.  This was like 60 years ago.  Various line types other than mono didn't enter the picture until 10 or so years ago.

I've used the improved cinch knot, it's real quick but not nearly as strong. A well tied uni knot is very hard to break and the only problems I have is when I snag a lure on shore fishing, it's a little too hard to break. The trick is to tighten it down real good.

The uni is a great all around knot in my worthless opinion.

Oh I agree. I use the trilene on spinners/swimbaits I’m pulling through vegetation cause the tag end doesn’t stick up. I use Palomar on terminal hooks. Uni for everything else including topwater/frogs.
