Anyone ever buy a boat through Bass Pro Shops?

Featured Replies

I'd like to find a vocational school that offers a 2 or 4 day class on outboards and general boat maintenance.  I know they used to offer them.  I need to check around.  I have the tools, equipment and shop space to work on one but I could use a refresher coarse.  I'd trust myself after a 4 day class over what I've been dealing with as far as local service  :-/

I bought one from bps.  A nitro boat.  They are a tracker dealer.  They are just located inside the BPS.  I had no problems.  I even ended up getting like 300 dollars of free gift cards.  I do believe that local dealers will service your boat last.  Call tracker main office and file a complaint on the dealer.  They'll straighten them out for you...

Hey so I was just wondering - I know the thread is old, however when you all bought your boats from Bass Pro, avid shopper by the way, I was wondering, did they allow you to see your boat get taken out of the store? Or did they tell you to wait a couple days/months?

Are you talking about getting a floor model?  If your going to wait months, you might as well get one fresh off the truck.

I'm talking about getting a floor model. I'm willing to wait months if it means I can see how they get it out of the store, I refuse to buy one and get it fresh off the truck.

Not sure.  I got mine fresh off the truck.  What is it your trying to see/not see?

Your not alone. I guess it’s better to have it delivered from the factory and then put on a showroom floor and have people climb thru it for a month or so and then take delivery. ?

Color me confused.  You just want to see how they get a floor model wheeled out the door?  Fresh off the truck means that before it's sold the dealer finishes rigging and testing the boat (like making sure the motor fires up and runs).  Nothing goes straight from the truck to the customer without some degree of checks.

I just Bought a 20 DLX Fishin barge and it coming from the factory. Anyone know how long it takes to ship from the factory?

I bought a Tracker Pro170 from Bass Pro, on line.  There isn't a Bass Pro store in my area.  IIRC, they showed me the closest dealer who handled Tracker and showed dealer inventory.  I picked it up locally where it was in stock and paid cash.  That dealer has a service department with an excellent reputation, but it's over an hour away.

When I did have a minor issue with the Merc outboard, a local Mercury dealer was happy to do the warranty work for me.
