Hammer Rods

Featured Replies

I am interested in hammer rods what’s everyone experience with there rods related to quality, action I have heard  there moderate like falcons and run one power lighter than rated and general impressions.  Interested in the 6’ 9” heavy for walking baits I am trying to find a rod to throw super spooks that weigh 1 ounce with a fast tip moderate action that will keep them pinned that’s 7 foot or less and is light weight.  Not seeing a lot of rods out there that meet that criteria.

I use that 6' 9" H/F for bladed jigs. It feels more like a MH/MF to me, great bladed jig rod. I think it would do just fine for you with big walking baits like that. They're very well built.

Thanks for the info I usually stick to shimano and meggabass for rods but I think I am going to try one of these out

Hammer rods are like Falcon and Dobyns.  They fish a bit light.  They also flex a lot like a Falcon (rod not the bird or the Ford).  At least mine seem to.

Have this same rod and is my bladed jig rod too. Will also use it at times for spinnerbaits, jigs, and T-rigs. Love this rod especially for the price. Good sensitivity and really like the parabolic action.

Where are those available? I don't see a 6'9" anywhere. Also which model are yall using?

I used to have a 6’9 MH/F for bladed jigs, it was an excellent rod. I’m not a fan of Winn grips though so I ended up selling it.

Buy it and report back

Another great walking bait rod is a Falcon Buccoo Trapcaster.
