Discount Online Retailers

Featured Replies

All,

I was wondering if there are any good online or discount retailers that would carry either overstocked goods or outdated models for tackle and equipment. I am new to fishing and dont need to spend a ton on the latest and greatest if I can get last years lastest and greatest at 1/3 of the price.

All the sites that I seem to find on my own have gear and tackle priced about the same as that as the local store which defeats the reason for buying online.

All help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Mick

BPS has a clearance section in it 's website, click on CLEARANCE at the right side of the banner then click on Freshwater Fishing. GYCB also has a close out special in their website and in many baits it has an overstock/discontinued section, you get the baits for less than half of what they usually cost.

Cabela's, another BassResource.com sponsor, also has a "Bargin Cave".

Click on their banner here so the Forum will get a little credit if you decide to buy something.

Also, check out the Flea Market here on the Forum. There are usually some GREAT deals there.

If you live near a Dick's Sporting Goods, they usually have a few bins of discontinued stuff, or stuff that is in damaged packaging, etc.  Prices are usually excellent, but you have to wade through a lot of junk lures.  Be careful of exposed hooks in those bins.

Two ideas:

1. Academy Sports in my town has top quality plastics, SB', and CB's for $.88 or $1.88 now (select styles and colors only, but for instance- 5" Yamamoto Senko (black n blue)- $1.88. Brush Hogs in Wat / Purple- $.88 per bag. Strike King Series 5 CB in good colors- $1.88 ea.

2. Try the closeout bin on the Gambler web site. they usually sell overstocked items for dirt cheap, and many are really good colors and styles. Usually around $.99 per bag.

Good luck.
