Sounds like your buzzbait might bent wings or a damaged rivet, something isn't right. I use a 3/4oz buzzbait a lot and it stays on the surface no problem even with a 6.3 reel.

I have zero issues with any of my 3/8oz buzzbaits. Only the two 1/2oz ones I have. Also didn’t mean to put “I use a 3/4oz buzz” I meant a 3/8oz buzz..
