Twin power vs Exsence 3000 size

Featured Replies

Which reel do you guys think is a better value? Looking to use for finesse tactics. They close in price point. I’ve heard mixed opinions from people I know so wanted to see what people on here think. Thanks for any input!

Essence.  Its magnesium frame is rigid and will save you nearly an ounce of weight (6.2oz vs 7.1oz).  I will say that the twinpower has quite the folliwing with overseas buyers.  Seemed like e ery time I visit digitaka, there is always a twinpower in the 'recently purchased' sidebar.

In the Shimano line, I like the Vanford series best for value and light weight.  For context, I have 1000 and 2000/2500 form factor Vanford, Twin Power, and Stella FJ reels and use the Vanford most often.  More specifically, the Vanford C2000HG (higher gear ratio) weighs 5.3oz and is a fabulous finesse reel.  Haven't tried an Exsence, so I can't opine on that one.  The Stellas are built with the precision of Swiss watches, but they aren't particularly light.

Thanks! I actually already have a vanford 2500, Stradic ci 4+ 3000, and a Stradic FL 3000. Love all these reels. Just wanted to try a step up or two and see what I get.

Stella then.  The other stuff isn't sufficiently better than the Vanfords to justify the prices.

Stella is definitely pricey! But I do appreciate that input. I’m not in a rush so will probably wait for a Black Friday sale or get used. If they make a 2000 size like they do with the vanford, I could get that to save on weight so it won’t be heavy compared to what I have now.

5.3oz is crazy light .  My og ballistic 2000's weigh nearly 2oz more.  I'm in the market for a couple of spinners myself, and am anxious to try a 3000 size reel.

Shimano reels go on sale for black friday!?

I’m not sure if they definitely will but a lot of online stores do discounts for Black Friday so hoping to score one!
