I-Pilot Link vs Plain I-Pilot cable question

Featured Replies

Is there an extra cable that runs from the motor to fishfinder with ipilot link - thats not needed with just ipilot motors? What is this cable, so hard to find this info minn kota website is confusing. Thanks

Yes,  IPilot link uses an Ethernet cable to connect to a fish finder or to an Ethernet switch.  You use the switch if you want to network all the fish finders together.  If the trolling motor is on the networks it can be used from any fish finder.    With my Ultrex TM the cable is part of the trolling motor so it’s not something extra you have to buy.

The ethernet cable allows you to connect the Link to 1 graph. If you want to connect more than one graph you will need the ethernet hub as well.

Thanks, just so I'm 100% clear @slonezp and @Tennessee Boy I need to fish this ethernet cable which comes with the motor (right) all the way from my motor in the bow to my console fish finder, correct?

Yes or to a fish finder on the bow.  The Ultrex comes with an extension cable that should be long enough to reach the console.  Also the fish finder must be a Humminbird with an Ethernet connection.
