6th Sense crankbait colors

Featured Replies

So I had a gift card from Mastercard. I  needed some flatsided squarebills and lipless crankbaits for my pond hopping event with my friends. This color piggy bank was on sale for nearly 50% off. I felt it was worth a gander of at least trying it. I also picked up Lava-Treuse, Sunfish Scream in lipless. As for the flatsided squarebills Shad Ball, 4K Bluegill and boiled crawfish.

Has anybody tried these colors?

Piggy bank is essentially blue chrome shad. I'm not sure about it, but I got an $80 order for $50. I'm happy with the purchase. Those flatsided cranks should do great in this weather.

I did very well with the Flat 75X this weekend in Black Magic and Jaint Juice. Biggest was 4.5 in 49 degree water. The 6th Sense cranks always perform well for me, no matter the color.

How do you fish your flatsided squarebills? I'm looking at doing my 7'3" MHMF crankbait rod. Good action those Flat 75X.

I've never seen a bad paint job from 6th Sense.  It really just depends what colors best fit the water you're fishing.

The Flat 75 is one of my favorites.  It's on the heavy side (5/8oz I believe) so it's on the upper side of the lure rating for my typical squarebill rod, but the 7'3 MHMF should be just about perfect.  I have a Falcon with the same length, power and action and I've thrown them on that rod a few times and liked it.

The Flat 75 will suspend when paused in the right water temp.

I've thrown their Quake lipless and the suspending version but I'll be the first to admit that my lack of success there was more than likely user error.  I struggle with lipless crankbaits.

I fish them on my 7'5 Okuma medium mod-fast crankbait rod (rated 3/16-1oz). This weekend, I was catching them mostly on shallow flats. Throwing it to the bank and grinding the bottom until the dropoff. Most of my bites were grinding the bottom, a couple when it went off the drop. One thing to note is I was on a power plant lake. I caught several closer to the hot water outlet where the temp was 60. But the 4.5 I caught was down the lake a bit where it was 49. She was right on the bank not too far from a channel with a ton of baitfish.
