Selling a Mosin

Featured Replies

Where is the best place to sell a rifle in New England? I have a Mosin Nagant that I have used once with a few rounds/clips, that I'm ready to get rid of. Most ranges in my area (mainly indoors) don't allow this caliber rifle, so I'm thinking I'll have to travel a bit. Any help would be great, thanks guys!

If you’re selling privately, check the gun laws of each state you want to sell the gun in.  If you want to sell it to a dealer, they can answer your question.

Gun laws vary from state to state in New England.  Is it semi-auto or bolt action?

If it’s bolt action, I know you can sell it in MA.

Here’s Massachusetts’ answer to your question: https://www.mass.gov/guides/frequently-asked-questions-about-the-assault-weapons-ban-enforcement-notice

Good luck.

Gun brokers an option and have a FFL transfer it.

Could always take it to a shop that takes trade ins or does consignment.

mosins go for stupid money now I remember when I got mine about 10 years ago my father in law at the time and I split it at $140 for the rifle so $70 each and that was a lot for what they used to cost. I just looked on gun broker when I saw this thread and they are selling for $500-1200 which is insane. I want one again since my now ex father in law has it but at the rates they are going for now I’ll never buy one at these prices.

Holy cow that is insane.  They are kind of a junky cheap gun too.  Heavier than an anchor.  My friend has two of them and we always ripped on him for having them.  I wonder if he still has them and I wonder if he knows how much they're worth...
