Shimano Scorpion DC7 or Daiwa Tatula CT

Featured Replies

Good evening all,

I have a question regarding the above mentioned 2 reels. In your opinion how would you rate both , specifically the braking systems? I am very familiar with the magforce Z system and really like it, but I have an opportunity to buy a used ScorpionDC7 at a good price. I have never used a Shimano reel before and  don't want to make a mistake in getting a reel that will backlash on me too easily. I would say that as of today with not fishing or practicing casting in over a year and a half, my thumb control is going to need some practice. Thoughts?

Thanks

If you cast a Tat ct now… you’ll  be more than fine with a Dc reel. I would go for the Scorpion Dc for a good price .

I have 2 Scorpion 21 DC XG reels & they work as designed. Excellent Reels. I don't have the Daiwa reel so I can't comment on it.

Thanks guys, I decided to go with the Daiwa as I’m very familiar with them and really like the brand. Also got a good price on it.
