Shimano Tranx 201/301

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if the Tranx is being discontinued? I can’t find the 201 or 301hg anywhere and have been looking for some time. I emailed Shimano but no response as of yet. Thanks

I do not know if they have been discontinued but I doubt it. TW has them listed but all models are out of stock. They do have dates listed when they expect them to be back in stock.

Cabela's had some 401's a few days ago but no 301s.

I doubt they are or will discontinued, as they are pretty dang popular. One thing you might consider is to do a prepaid order at TW for the model you want, that way when they do arrive, you will be one the first to receive a reel. On second thought, not sure if you can do that nowadays.

I know you wanted a Tranx 300 but thought you may be interested in a  Daiwa Lexa. I have a Lexa 300 on a heavy rod and it is a nice reel.

They just got these in a Cabela's.

Not being discontinued, just hard to get any stock.

Rumour has it they will be updating the tranx 500 because the most resent releases from daiwa really did a number on sales of it. Again this is just what I’ve heard.
